Slieve Foye Loop

This beautiful trail takes you along the Carlingford Lough through forest trails..

Meet: at Carlingford Tourist Office @ 10:30  Eircode A91 CV06

It is located in an old railway station overlooking the harbour with plenty of car parking nearby.

Walk Starts @ 11:00am Sharp. 

Start & Finish: This is  a loop walk starting and finishing @ Carlingford Tourist Office

Distance 9km. 3.5 hours -including a break.

Conditions : This loop follows red blue arrows on tarmac and forestry roads, grassy track and mountain paths with one rough section which can be boggy and wet in places.

Difficulty: Moderate to Difficult due to the ascent/descent of 350m and the uneven surface.

Gear: Rain gear & hiking boots/shoes(essential), walking poles (if you wish), Snack & a drink. 

Driving/Travel Directions: Carlingford is clearly signposted from the M1 exit North of Dundalk.

Special notes:

1) there are no shortcuts /easy exits on this walk.

2) there are no toilet/cafe facilities on the walk but there are a number of cafes in Carlingford.  In addition, there are public toilets in a blue building near (and clearly visible from) the Information Office.
