About the Event
Ticknock offers up to 10 km of mountain and forest walks with some spectacular views of Dublin City, Dublin Bay, Bray Head and Wicklow Mountains. The forest has an extensive network of forest trails with pleasant moderate walks through the trees, it also has a tarmac road leading all the way to the top and is easily accessible for children and people with lower level of fitness.
There are three large rock formations (Three Rock Mountain) just after the end of the tarmac road great to climb on and sit and enjoy the picturesque views over the Wicklow mountains and the coast. Further up in the area, there is also a Two Rock Mountain (536 meters above the sea level) with romantic ruins of the Fairy Castle.

How to get there: Directions from city centre via N11. Take the N11 southbound as far as the exit for Cherrywood and Dun-Laoghaire. Turn right at traffic lights for Cherrywood, crossing over the N11. Follow the sign for M50 northbound. From the M50 exit 15 for Kilternan and Leopardstown. At the roundabout take exit for Kilternan onto the Glenamuck road. At the top of this road (at Palmers Pub turn left, and take the 1st turn right at the Topez garage. Continue on this road for approx. 3km and Johnnie Foxes Pub will be on the right. From City journey time is approx 25mins by car.
