Boyne Walk for Members & Friends March 18th 2022
The Boyne Valley Camino consists of two loops, in roughly a figure of eight. Our walk will include one of the loops(16km). It is a mixture of trails and quiet roads. Mellifont Abbey is the highlight.

Meet: @ 10:30am in Oldbridge House Car Park(Battle of the Boyne visitor center) – (toilets & café nearby)
Walk Starts @ 11am Sharp
Distance: 16km Approx
Duration: 4 hrs plus break in Mellifont Abbey
Difficulty: easy but care needed on road sections of walk
Gear: Boots (a short part of the route is muddy), warm clothing, raingear, water & packed lunch.
How to get there:
- Take Exit 10 just North of the Mary McAleese Bridge on the M1, near Drogheda.
- Follow signs for Slane, West along N51.
- After approximately 1k arrive at a cross roads. Turn left over bridge following signs for Battle of the Boyne Site.
- Follow road a short distance to another bridge and immediately turn right into grounds of Oldbridge House. Follow signs for car park (free). Car Park and Main Exit Gate will be locked at 6pm sharp.
