About the Event

This walk is only open for volunteers and members to register.

Dublin Parks Walk

A chance to see some of the delights on Dubliners’ doorsteps.  The emphasis of the walk will be on aspects of these parks that are often overlooked, such as an urban dolmen and a horse’s gravestone.

  • Meet: Heuston Station (at main entrance, near the LUAS stop), 10:30 AM
  • Time: Walk starts at 11:00 sharp.
  • Walk details: The walk is 12km in length and is rated “easy”.  We will walk through the Phoenix Park via the polo grounds, the entrance to Aras An Uachtarain and the papal cross.  We will stop for a break in Chapelizod Village (where there are shops, coffee shops and a seating area) and start our return to the city by walking along the river to the War Memorial Garden.  We will then pass through the grounds of the Royal Hospital Kilmainham and on to the city centre.
