About the Event
This walk is open for members to register and bring their friends.
Meet: Maynooth train station at 10:30 AM
Time: Walk starts at 11:00 AM sharp.
Parking: Paid parking in Maynooth train station or town, or take the train. The 9:45 train from Dublin Connolly is scheduled to arrive to Maynooth at 10:29, and there are regular trains back to Dublin from Maynooth.
Distance: 10-12 km (weather depending)
Duration: 3-3.5 hours, allowing for a toilet and coffee break on the grounds of Carton House. If the weather allows, another stop will be made for lunch on the grounds.
Difficulty: Easy to moderate; the route is mainly on flat paths; should suit most levels of fitness.
Gear: Rain gear and appropriate walking boots or trail shoes that can handle mud and water. Walking sticks might be helpful on muddy and slippery parts. Be sure to bring a snack/lunch and a drink.
